We are…

M.A.D. in Chicago is an Illinois ecological restoration non-profit program aimed to support at risk youth and young adults from 16 up to 25 years of age living in communities where trauma is more normal than healing.
M.A.D in Chicago was created to provide youth and young adults a space to gain a sense of worth, belonging and place through learning about the environment, planning & implementation of a healing community. By providing these resources, they will be able to break unhealthy cycles in their family and help their community improve. Wellness and Healing is a vibe that should be accessible, embraced and catered to a person’s unique life journey.
The Vision…
Preventing violence by maximizing the opportunities for providing positive self-image and bringing stronger family foundation to our communities. It is the hope that the Wellness and Movement Program will extend its reach in trauma-informed care and wellness. We want to show the rest of Chicago that the Englewood community is an asset on different levels. We hope the result of this initiative will encourage other communities to build their village to LIVE, not just survive.

It Takes a Village!!
And We wouldn’t be a village without our community partners helping us extend these services to youth. We work with community members to restore the environment by taking part in learning about the environment, restorative practice & implementing skills towards a healthy life within the Englewood community in the Chicago area. Through this work, youth will have consistently clean clothes, while learning social, communication and community building skills that will also support them in becoming confident, respectful and productive members of their community and our society.
